THE BRONX – A 70-year-old man was punched in the face at a Bronx check-cashing business by an attacker who made off with $300 cash, police said Friday as they asked for the public’s help to catch the culprit.

It happened about 9:25 a.m. Nov. 9 at the Pay-O-Matic located at 2193 Grand Concourse, police said.

The victim was standing at the window when a man, posing a customer, approached him and tried to snatch his money, police said.

The man fought back and was punched in the face by the attacker, who grabbed $300 from the victim and ran from the business, heading south on Grand Concourse, police said.

The attacker is described as a bald man who was last seen wearing a black ski cap, work boots, brown jacket and black jeans.

Anyone with information in the case is urged to call NYPD’s anonymous Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
