NYPD officer suffers injury after car hits him on Manhattan Bridge

MANHATTAN – A NYPD officer was hurt after a car that refused to stop hit him before fleeing across the Manhattan Bridge.

The incident initially began before the Manhattan Bridge as police officers attempted to pull over the car. However, the driver refused to stop and drove onto the Manhattan Bridge toward Brooklyn, according to police.

Once on the bridge, the car stopped in the middle of the upper level. When the officer approached the car, it pulled away again and the officer was struck, cops said.

The injuries are not considered serious.

The whereabouts of the vehicle are unknown.
