Driver charged after car mounts sidewalk in Flatbush killing 1

FLATBUSH, Brooklyn — A Brooklyn man has been charged after crashing his car onto a Brooklyn sidewalk killing one person.

Paul Omoregie, 58, was charged with driving without a license and aggravated unlicensed operator.

Omoregie was driving on Flatbush Avenue Monday afternoon when his car mounted the sidewalk.

The car struck Kinyeti Charles, 50, who was walking nearby. He was rushed to Kings County Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Omoregie and his 3-year-old son were taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition.

Charles' death was the 13th traffic death since Halloween.
