‘Name Your Own Price Day’ at 7-Eleven aims to freeze out hunger with Slurpees

NEW YORK — July 11 may be Free Slurpee Day, but 7-Eleven has found another way to entice Slurpee-lovers with “Name Your Own Price Day” on 11/7 (Nov. 7).

Customers can walk into any 7-Eleven store nationwide today and pay whatever they want for any size Slurpee. They can pay a penny, $1 or $1,000. Anything will do.

All of the proceeds will be donated to Feeding America, a nationwide network of food banks that helps fed millions of people through food pantries and shelters.

“The more we all slurp, the more money that goes toward the amazing cause of feeding those in need,” 7-Eleven wrote on its Facebook page. “Invite your friends and mark your calendars. Together, we can freeze out hunger!
