MILTON, Mass. — A student at a small, liberal arts college outside Boston has been arrested on weapon and drug charges after police say a gun and ammunition was found in his dorm room.

Milton police say Darius Boodoosingh was arrested after officials at Curry College received a tip and searched his room Friday.

The 18-year-old Boston resident has been charged with gun charges including carrying a firearm on school grounds as well as possession of drugs with intent to distribute.

Boodoosingh remains in police custody and will be arraigned Monday in Quincy District Court. It’s not clear if he has an attorney.

College officials say they don’t believe there’s any threat to the campus community.
