CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn — An Orthodox Jewish man was assaulted Wednesday on his way to synagogue by an attacker who allegedly told police he was “tired and fed up of the Jews,” according to NYPD.

The victim was walking in the 600 block of Lefferts Avenue when, shortly before 6 a.m., he was attacked by a man who knocked his phone from his hand and punched him in the face, police said.

Officers scoured the area searching for the attacker when they came upon a man who matched his description. A police spokesman told PIX11 News the culprit told officers, while being arrested, “I’m tired and fed up with the Jews.”

The victim suffered minor injuries, including cuts to his face and a blood nose, police said.

Charges against the attacker are pending.
