Man’s body found after small plane crashes in water off Breezy Point

BREEZY POINT, Queens — A man's body was pulled from the water after a small plane crashed in Queens Wednesday night.

The FDNY reports that a body was pulled from the water just before 11 p.m. Wednesday. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The NYPD and FDNY have been in the water off Beach 219th Street in Rockaway since 8 p.m.

Officials have located the 2-seater Beech Craft half a mile off of Breezy Point in the Atlantic Ocean.

The single-engine plane registered in Rye, New Hampshire originated its journey in Pennsylvania earlier this evening.

The U.S. Coast Guard is also on the scene assisting with the search.

The Federal Aviation Administration has been notified and is investigating.
