BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, Brooklyn – A knife-wielding assailant slashed two people aboard a C train in what appears to be a random attack, according to police.
The attack happened on a Manhattan-bound train near the Ralph Avenue / Fulton Street Station in Bedford-Stuyvesant around 3 p.m. Paramedics rushed to the station to aid the injured straphangers.
The victims told police they didn't know each other nor the attacker. One of the victims was on his way to work when the suspect sliced him with what police believe was a razor.
Both victims were taken to Brookdale Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Police are looking for a single suspect.
MTA officials are advising riders that northbound C trains will run express from Broadway Junction to Hoyt-Schermerhorn, and southbound trains will also skip the Ralph Avenue station during the police investigation.
Commuters should expect delays in both directions.
