New York City Marathon runner from Italy missing after crossing finish line

CENTRAL PARK — A man from Italy has been missing for more than a day after crossing the finish line of the New York City Marathon.

Police say Gianclaudio Marengo, 30,  was last seen around 3 p.m. Sunday after crossing the finish line in Central Park.

Marengo, who is visiting from Italy, never returned to the Sleep Inn Hotel in Queens. He came to New York with a group of runners from Italy for the marathon.

He was last seen wearing a turquoise shirt, black shorts and a marathon racing bib with the number #23781.

He is described as being approximately 5-foot-8 and weighing around 150 pounds. Marengo only speaks Italian.
