This former couch potato is running for her life.

Following years of depression, the Brooklyn mother of two Michelle "Hercules" Walker, 47, decided that she needed to get life under control.

She weighed 307 pounds one year ago, when she looked in her bedroom mirror and seriously considered suicide. But after shedding more than 100 pounds by pounding pavement over the year, "Runner's World" magazine has named her one of its 2015 Cover Search winners.

She didn't run this year's New York City Marathon but supported her fellow runners. She shares her inspiring story on PIX11.
