ROCKVILLE, Conn. -- A former University of Connecticut student is set to make his first court appearance after going on a drunken and obscenity-laced tirade against university food service workers for refusing to sell him jalapeno-bacon macaroni and cheese.
Luke Gatti is scheduled to be arraigned on misdemeanor breach of peace and trespassing charges Tuesday in Rockville Superior Court.
The 19-year-old former freshman from Bayville, New York, was arrested after the Oct. 4 outburst in the Student Union, which was captured on a video widely viewed on the Internet. Gatti argued with a food service supervisor and shoved him.
Gatti later apologized in a video posted online.
University officials said last week that Gatti was no longer enrolled at UConn. It wasn't clear if he was expelled or left on his own accord.
