POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. — Town of Poughkeepsie police are investigating after a parent reportedly found a pill inside a Snickers bar.
Joann Turner of Wappingers Falls told the Poughkeepsie Journal that her 13-year-old daughter found an open Snickers bar in her candy she got while trick-or-treating at the Galleria Mall on Saturday.
Turner said that the ends had been sliced and the candy bar was cut horizontally. When she pulled it apart, she said she found a pink pill inside.
At first Turner said she thought it was another piece of candy, but then looker closer and saw that it had the number 4 on it so she called the police.
The pill has been turned over for testing and police are investigating.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Town of Poughkeepsie Police at 845-485-3666.
The Galleria Mall’s management responded to the incident in an emailed statement to the Poughkeepsie Journal:
“(The) Poughkeepsie Galleria has hosted our annual Malloween event for years to provide a fun and safe place for the community to enjoy Halloween. We are working closely with the tenants and Town of Poughkeepsie police and continue to encourage everyone to always check their candy from every source – grocery, party, trick-or-treating, etc.”
