CLINTON HILL, Brooklyn – Police are asking the public for help in tracking down a driver who struck a traffic agent in a hit-and-run Friday.

Just before midnight the 30-year-old was walking to his marked NYPD vehicle near Washington and Myrtle Avenues when he was hit by a red or burgundy Volkswagen Passat, according to police.

The car knocked him to the ground without slowing down.
