LOS ANGELES – The body of a 20-year-old man was found lodged in a Los Angeles highway sign after a violent collision Friday morning.

Firefighters found the man, who hasn't been identified, after the California Highway Patrol got calls reporting an accident around 7 a.m.

A black, badly damaged Prius was found under the sign.

During the accident, the man was launched through the windshield, flying so high he landed atop the sign, according to CHP officials.

Grisly footage of the scene shows firefighters using a ladder to reach the body to cover him with a sheet.

Officials marked off two lanes while trying to clear the scene.
