HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. — Hempstead Village police say three shots were fired at a man and woman who were walking with a 1-year-old baby in a stroller Thursday afternoon.

The shooting happened around 12:25 p.m. on Front Street. Police say the man with the stroller was the intended target.

Authorities say the suspect appeared from behind a building, called out to the man with the stroller and fired a gun in his direction three times.

One bullet hit a parked car and two hit a nearby business, police say. No injuries were reported.

As the suspect fled, police say he spotted a person in a window and pointed a gun at the witness but did not shoot.

The suspect then got into a waiting car and fled the area. No arrests have been made.

There is no further information at this time.

The shooting comes just two weeks after a stray bullet struck and killed 12-year-old Dejah Joyner in her Hempstead home on Oct. 16.

Police are still looking for the suspect involved in the shooting. They are offering $75,000 reward for any information on the incident.
