WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — A former Westchester County high school drama teacher has been arraigned on sex charges involving students at his school.

The Westchester district attorney’s office says 41-year-old Christopher Schraufnagel surrendered to authorities Wednesday.

Schraufnagel taught at Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua until last month.

According to the criminal complaint obtained by LoHud:

“From May 1st, 2011 to June 5th, 2015, the defendant, a former speech and drama teacher at Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua, New York engaged in numerous instances of sexual assault, inappropriate sexual conduct and contact with a total of three underage students of the school.”

They say that in 2014 Schraufnagel asked another 15-year-old student to kiss every student in a class while Schraufnagel took pictures. They say Schraufnagel made a slide show to humiliate the students.

According to the complaint:

“Between December 1st, 2014 and December 25th, 2014, the defendant asked a student at Horace Greeley High School at the time, to participate in a slideshow kissing every student in one of the defendant’s classes while the defendant took pictures. The next day, another student of the defendant, was directed by the defendant to have the same victim kiss additional male and female students while being photographed. Thereafter, the defendant publicly displayed the slideshow to one of his classes full of students in an attempt to humiliate the students.”

“Between October 1st, 2014 and June 5th, 2015, the defendant had a number of instances of inappropriate conversations with strong sexual overtones and sexual contact with another student of the school.”

Schraufnagel, of Manhattan, was arraigned Wednesday on charges of criminal sex act, endangering the welfare of a minor and sex abuse.

His attorney did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
