NEW YORK -- A grand jury has indicted Tyrone Howard in the shooting death of NYPD Officer Randolph Holder, law enforcement sources tell PIX11 News.

The indictment happened Tuesday afternoon.

The gun involved in the shooting was recovered from the Harlem River Sunday. On Monday, Ballistics confirmed the gun found was the one used to shoot Holder.

A wake for Officer Randolph Holder was held Tuesday at the Greater Allen A.M.E. Cathedral of New York in Jamaica, Queens.

Holder's funeral will be held Wednesday. He will be buried in his native Guyana.
