Modell’s to donate 10% of sales from Mets’ women’s merchandise to benefit breast cancer research

NEW YORK -- Mitch Modell, CEO of Modell's Sporting Goods, announced Tuesday that the company will be donating 10 percent of proceeds from the sale of Mets' women's merchandise to benefit breast cancer research.

"If there's a way we can help out, and celebrate and save lives, we're more than happy," Modell said Tuesday.

The company will donate 10 percent of sales on Mets women's merchandise Tuesday through Saturday. They have guaranteed $25,000 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Modell's sister has lung cancer, and his brother died of Hodgkin's lymphoma.
