Mets, Royals play Game 1 of the World Series tonight

KANSAS CITY, Mo.  — The World Series gets underway later today as the Kansas City Royals host the New York Mets. 

Edinson Volquez will start for the Royals against Matt Harvey, and the Mets will start Jacob deGrom for Game 2 against Johnny Cueto before the series shifts to New York.

The Mets announced that Kelly Johnson will be their designated hitter for the opener.

Game 1 of the World Series starts at 8:07 p.m. Tuesday on FOX.
