FBI investigating possible threat of a ‘Halloween Revolt’ against cops

NEW YORK — The FBI is investigating a possible threat of a “Halloween Revolt” by an anarchist group against police officers on Oct. 31.

According to the New York Post, the FBI reportedly released an alert Monday warning the NYPD and police departments nationwide of the potentially dangerous group that says it plans to attack officers on Halloween.

The group, known as the National Liberation Militia, has allegedly threatened to carry out a “Halloween Revolt” that encourages people to causes disturbances to attract police so that they can then attack them, the Post reported.

Supporters are reportedly urged to wear Halloween masks and carry weapons such as bricks or firearms.

PIX11 News reached out to the FBI — who did not confirm or deny the threat.

“As part of the continuous dialogue with our law enforcement partners, the FBI routinely shares information about potential threats to better enable law enforcement to protect the communities they serve. We urge the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity to law enforcement.”

NYPD officials told the Post there is no specific threat to New York City, and they are monitoring the situation.
