Two men rob elderly woman at knifepoint on Long Island: police

GREAT NECK PLAZA, N.Y. – Police are looking for two men who robbed an 88-year-old woman on Long Island and ran away with her money Sunday morning.

Nassau County police say the incident happened in Great Neck Plaza at 11:30 a.m.

According to detectives, the victim was walking on South Middle Neck Road near Schenck Avenue to go shopping at a local store when two men demanded money from her while pointing a small knife at her waist.

The elderly woman cooperated and handed over the wallet containing a small amount of cash and identifying documents, police say.

The thieves then fled running southbound on South Middle Neck Road.

The uninjured victim described the culprits as approximately 18 to 20 years old and about 5 feet 8 inches tall.
