Police search for gunman who killed Bronx deli clerk

FORDHAM HEIGHTS, The Bronx — Police are looking for the gunman who opened fire in a Bronx deli, killing an employee.

The shooting happened Sunday morning at Trio Deli on 2345 Jerome Avenue in the Fordham Heights section of the borough around 10 a.m.

Police say a customer had an argument with the victim, 46, who worked behind the counter. The customer left the store but returned and shot the clerk in the stomach.

He was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity has not been released at this time.

There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
