THE BRONX — A motorcycle was found on its side in the middle of a Bronx thoroughfare Friday morning, but its driver was nowhere to be seen, authorities said.

The search for the driver began about 6:15 a.m. and was unfolding on Southern Boulevard just before the Bronx River Parkway.

The vehicle came to a rest toward the right of the lane, with its seat pointing toward a concrete barrier over which lies a ravine.
