Long Island Expressway reopened in Hauppauge after serious motorcycle crash

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. — Suffolk County Police have reopened the eastbound lanes of the Long Island Expressway in Hauppauge after a serious motorcycle crash.

The crash happened by Exit 56 around 4:10 p.m.

The victim was transported by helicopter to a local hospital with serious injuries.

There were heavy delays on both sides of the expressway with a police car accident in the westbound lanes about a mile away.  That accident had minor injuries.

The condition of the motorcyclist is unknown at this time.
