Suspect followed woman into Bushwick apartment, tried to rape her: police

BUSHWICK, Brooklyn — Police are searching for a man they say tried to rape a woman in her Brooklyn apartment.

The victim, 36, had entered her apartment building in Bushwick just after 11 p.m., on Oct. 2., when the suspect tried striking up a conversation with her.

Police say the suspect then followed her into her apartment and tried to rape her.  He then fled the apartment.

He is described as being in his 20s, approximately 5-foot-7 and weighing 170 pounds.

Surveillance video shows the suspect in the vestibule of the apartment building.
