MANHATTAN — "The Walking Dead Fan Premiere" is one of the biggest events of Comic Con weekend and the closing event to "New York Super Week."

No they didn't see a walker — these "Dead" fans camped out at Madison Square Garden Friday afternoon hoping to get a glimpse of their favorite stars. One fan risked life and limb to snap a picture.

The show, coming back for its 6th season, is wildly successful, especially among comic fans. The 18,000 people who attended the premiere at the Garden didn't purchase their tickets — they had to win them.

Like Comic Con, die-hards came dressed to impress, even two teachers from New Jersey got in on the fun.

"Dead" fans from all over the world attended the premiere, including a Texas woman who has an entire room at her home specifically devoted to "The Walking Dead."

If you weren't one of the lucky ones to score a ticket, you'll have to see the premiere like regular folks on Sunday night at 9 p.m. on AMC.
