Duo robs more than $1K cash from 79-year-old man: NYPD

FLATBUSH-DITMAS PARK, Brooklyn – A 79-year-old man was robbed of more than $1,000 and a cellphone on his way home Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The unsuspecting victim was walking to his residence when two suspects jumped him  in the vicinity of Albemarle Road and East 21st Street about 4:25 p.m. Tuesday, police said.

The first attacker put the victim in a chokehold and threw him on the ground, while the second one ripped his pants off, according to the NYPD. The second thief took the victim's wallet containing $1,100 and credit cards as well as cellphone before fleeing with his accomplice from the scene, police said.

The robbing duo used the victim's credit cards to purchase items at an Adidas store inside Kings Plaza located at Avenue U and Flatbush Avenue, cops said.

NYPD said the first robber was last seen wearing a red-hooded sweatshirt and the other was last seen donning all-black clothing.
