ESPERANCE, Australia — New Yorkers may have bid farewell to summer weeks ago, but they can relive the warm weather magic by watching this majestic video filled with turquoise waters and calm-inducing background music.

In Australia, Esperance local Jaimen Hudson heard a rumor of whales frolicking in nearby waters, and he wasted little time grabbing his drone to capture evidence.

What Hudson filmed was a perfect juxtaposition of two gigantic whales swimming next to a seemingly ant-like man on a paddleboard. It was “perfect timing,” he told a local news station.

At one point in the video, the whales get alarmingly close to the man, lifting their heads and looking up at the board.

“…they were so inquisitive and wanted to know what he was,” Hudson said.

“I don’t think it was dangerous,” he continued, describing the whales as slow-moving and peaceful.

The video, set to the song “Imagine” (originally by John Lennon),  has garnered almost 1 million views since it was posted Thursday. With the cold weather on its way, it’s enough to induce nostalgic envy in every beach lover in the Northeast.
