FORDHAM HEIGHTS, The Bronx — Police are searching for a suspect in connection with the shooting death of a 27-year-old woman from the Bronx.

Officers responded to a 911 call at 2525 Morris Ave. Sunday around 7:42 a.m. and found Jennifer Ortiz sitting in the passenger seat of an SUV with a gunshot wound to her head. EMS pronounced the Belmont resident dead at the scene.

The NYPD is searching for 31-year-old suspect Amauri Perdomo, described as about 6-feet tall and 230 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He lives in the same building as Ortiz at 775 E 185th St., according to police.
