Sanitation workers find skeletal remains in discarded couch on Belt Parkway

MARINE PARK, Brooklyn —Sanitation workers made a shocking discovery inside of a discarded couch along the Belt Parkway.

According to the Daily News, the workers came across the couch around 3 p.m. Friday off Shell Bank Creek near the Flatbush Avenue exit in Marine Park.

As they tossed the couch into a garbage truck, bones and a human skull fell out.

The city medical examiner is working to determine who the remains belonged to and how they died. It’s unknown how long the couch had been in the area.
