LOWER EAST SIDE, Manhattan — A man was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head after an early morning shooting in a Manhattan apartment building lobby, police said Saturday.

Officers in the 5th Precinct responding to a 911 call at the Smith Houses at 5:44 a.m. discovered the unconscious male victim.

The 19-year-old was transported to New York Downtown Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police had made no arrests as of Saturday morning and said the investigation remained ongoing.

The victim was not identified pending the notification of family.
