MANHATTAN — A 70-year-old woman has died after fire broke out in a high-rise on Tuesday.

The fire reportedly started on the 14th floor of the apartment building around 2 p.m. at 45 Sutton Place South, according to officials.

It was contained within an hour.

The woman was found dead in her apartment. She has not been identified pending family notification.

One firefighter was hospitalized for smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is still unknown. The investigation is ongoing.
