Thief knocks out 64-year-old man, takes his gold chain in the Bronx: NYPD

THE BRONX-- Police are looking for a thief who allegedly punched a 64-year-old man and snatched his gold chain inside a Bronx apartment building Thursday evening.

The NYPD says the incident happened in vicinity of Grand Concourse and East Mount Eden Avenue about 7:10 p.m. Thursday.

The robber, who is described by cops as a man with medium complexion, short hair and brown eyes, approached the victim as he was entering the elevator, punched him in the head and took a gold chain from his neck before fleeing.

The victim sustained a minor injury to his head and refused medical attention at the scene, police say.

The culprit was last seen in surveillance video provided by the NYPD wearing a red baseball hat, a red T-shirt, gray sweatpants and gray sneakers.
