Man arrested after allegedly tweeting ‘kill all the white people’ in La Plata

LA PLATA, Md. — After allegedly tweeting to “kill all the white people” in his town, the 20-year-old suspect has been arrested by local police.

According to the Charles County Sheriff, 20-year-old Carlos Anthony Hollins tweeted “IM NOT GONNA STAND FOR THIS NO. MORE. TONIGHT WE PURGE! KILL ALL THE WHITE PPL IN THE TOWN OF LA PLATA” Wednesday at 4:43 p.m.

Police were alerted of the threats against residents and arrested Hollins four hours later without incident in Waldorf.

Local authorities increased police presence following the threats to “protect the public.” The sheriff’s office said they are working to “establish the credibility of the threat and the identity of the individual.”
