CONEY ISLAND, Brooklyn — It's a furry face-off! In all sense of the word.

The strangest and most extravagant beards and mustaches have taken over sideshows at the seashore to see whose facial hair reigns supreme!

It's in its 8th year, and an annual tradition that falls on or near Labor Day weekend.

Co-hosts Don Jamieson of VH1's That Metal Show and Adam Real Man led the panel of judges trying to weed out the best whiskers in New York City and beyond.

For the "mane" event, contestants will vie for the coveted Beard and Mustache Fez trophy in several categories such as Moustachio Marvel (best natural mustache), Hokum and Hoodwinked (best fake beard or mustache) and the Brass Ring (best in show).
