MOTT HAVEN, The Bronx – Surveillance cameras recorded a driver backing up sharply, slamming into a woman and then taking off -- but not before getting out to take a look at his alleged victim.

Police are asking the public for help finding the driver of the gray Honda involved in the Aug. 19 hit-and-run.

Around 10:30 a.m. a 51-year-old woman was walking across the street in front of 525 Jackson Avenue in the Bronx when the car's reversed into her, sending the woman flying to the pavement.

The driver, dressed in brown cargo shorts, a gray tank top and white sneakers, gets out of the car and takes a look at the woman sprawled on the street.  He then appears to make a phone call, shrug and get back into the car before driving off.

The woman suffered multiple abrasions.

Police are asking anyone with information to call police at (800) 577-TIPS.
