Rapper Fetty Wap performs free concert in Paterson, encourages kids to stay in school

PATERSON, N.J. -- Rapper Fetty Wap returned to his hometown of Paterson, New Jersey Thursday evening to perform a free concert for High School freshmen.

Born Willie Maxwell, the entertainer told PIX 11, "I just want to show the kids of Paterson there’s other opportunities out there."

Paterson Mayor Joey Torres gave Fetty Wap a symbolic key to the city, "it is my hope and my prayers that you continue to excel in your musical career and never never ever forget where you come from."

French Montana also joined Fetty Wap on stage to entertain the students.
