ATLANTA, Ga. — A baby girl with her umbilical cord still attacked was found abandoned Monday evening on an Atlanta street with her parents nowhere to be found, WGCL reports.

The newborn, nicknamed Baby Harlan by police, was found on Harlan Road. She was wrapped in a Hello Kitty blanket, police said.

Baby Harlan was transported to Scottish Rite Hospital in Atlanta where she is receiving medical treatment. The baby’s exact condition is not known at this time.

Police are trying to track down the mother of the infant to make sure she has received proper medical treatment as well. Anyone with information in the case is urged to contact Atlanta Police at 404 614-6544.

Earlier this month, another newborn was discarded on a street in Los Angeles, drawing national headlines as police searched for the child’s parents. That child’s umbilical cord also was still attached when he was found inside an abandoned stroller, sweating heavily and dressed in new pajamas.
