Two dead in wreck on NY State Thruway in Rockland County

RAMAPO, N.Y. — At least two people are dead after a tractor trailer, two box trucks and a car collided on the NY State Thruway Friday in Rockland County, authorities said.

The wrong-way crash happened shortly before 10 a.m. in the southbound lanes between exits 14B and 14A.

A tractor trailer, two box trucks and another vehicle crashed on I-87 near Airmont Road when one of the driver’s traveling north crossed over into oncoming traffic, state police said.

Traffic is being diverted at Exit 15 to Route 17 south, state police said.
