OCEANSIDE, N.Y. — Police on Long Island say a woman has been arrested after a woman was killed at a home in Oceanside.

Nassau County police Det. Capt. John Azzata said officers received a 911 call at 12:48 p.m. Monday reporting an assault in progress on Terrell Avenue. He says responding officers found the female victim “bleeding profusely from the neck.”

The victim was taken to a hospital and died a few hours later.

Azzata says the attack was not random. He would not identify the victim or the suspect. Charges against the suspected attacker had not yet been disclosed.

The Nassau County district attorney’s office declined to comment.
