Pedestrian injured after being hit by MTA bus in Midtown

MIDTOWN, Manhattan — A man was seriously injured when he was struck by an MTA bus Wednesday afternoon.

Police say the man, 56, was crossing the street around 3:45 p.m., at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and W. 56th Street when he was hit by an MTA bus.

He was transported to New York Presbyterian Cornell Medical Center with a leg injury. The victim is in serious but stable condition.

The driver of the bus stayed on the scene.

An investigation is ongoing.
