TRENTON, N.J. — Commuters traveling on I-495 in New Jersey should expect congestion and delays on their evening commute.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation announced Wednesday that the two right lanes on the I-495 eastbound bridge in North Bergen will be closed for repair. The lanes will be closed to assess a damaged bridge deck joint.

I-495 eastbound feeds into the Lincoln Tunnel. The DOT says drivers heading into New York City should expect delays and are urged to seek alternate routes.

The duration of the work is unknown at this time but officials say it will impact the evening commute. It's also a possibility that the morning commute will be affected as well.
