THE BRONX — An SUV crashed through a guardrail on the Bronx River Parkway Friday morning and landed in the water.

It happened in the northbound lanes near Yonkers Avenue.

Two rescuers were seen wading in the water surrounding the water-logged vehicle. The condition of passengers was not immediately known.

All northbound lanes are closed as of 8:15 a.m.

Drivers can take I-87 to get around the jam, which as of 8 a.m. was about a 1.5 miles long, PIX11 News traffic anchor Kaitlin Monte said.
