MINEOLA, N.Y. — PSEG Long Island says it has restored power to nearly 96 percent of customers who lost electricity during a storm this week.

The areas hardest hit by Tuesday’s storm were located north of Jericho Turnpike, east of the Nassau border and in the Towns of Smithtown and Brookhaven.

Crews from surrounding utilities are assisting with repairs.

More than 80,000 customers lost power during the storm that knocked down trees and power lines across a wide swath of the north shore.
