Man attempts to rape clothing store employee in South Bronx: police

SOUTH BRONX — Police are searching for a suspect in an attempted rape in the Bronx.

The suspect walked into a clothing store in the South Bronx on Saturday around 1 p.m.

After browsing the store, the suspect tried to rape the 41-year-old clerk. She was able to fight the suspect off before he fled the scene.

Police have released surveillance video showing the man in question in the store.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS. People can also submit their tips to the Crime Stoppers website or sending a text message to 274637 (CRIMES) and then enter TIP577.
