Police desperately search for missing deaf, mute man, 87, in Gramercy

GRAMERCY, Manhattan — Police are searching for a missing elderly man in Gramercy.

Margarito Cruz, 87, was last seen Saturday afternoon around 4 p.m., in front of Eisenberg’s Sandwich Shop located at 174 5th Ave.

Cruz, who police say is deaf and mute, is 5-foot-6 and weighs 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue Con Edison t-shirt.

A photo of Cruz has been released to help people identify him.

Anyone with information in regards his whereabouts is urged to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.

People can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers Website or by texting their tips to 274637(CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
