Snoop Dogg arrested in Sweden on suspicion of drug possession

STOCKHOLM, Sweden — Snoop Dogg was arrested on drug suspicion charges after he performed at a concert in Sweden Saturday night.

The 43-year-old rapper, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., documented the ordeal on his Instagram, saying “We getting sweated by the police right now.”

Snoop’s entourage can be heard in the background asking why they were pulled over, with one asking “What do we have?”

Swedish police then put Broadus Jr. in the back of a police car and took him to the precinct.

“They got me in the back of a police car right now,” he said in a second Instagram video, posted for his 5.8 million followers to see. Blue lights are seen flashing in the background.

“I gotta go pee in a cup for nothing,” Broadus Jr. said.

Later, the rapper posted a photo of his performance with the caption: “2 all my sweden fans U can blame YA police dept for never seeing me again in your beautiful country its allways a few dicks that f— it up for everybody its been real thank u Jah bless. !!”

A police spokesperson provided the reason behind Broadus Jr.’s arrest.

“Police carrying out roadside controls noticed that Snoop Dogg (whose car was pulled over) seemed to be under the influence of narcotics,” police spokesman, Daniel Nilsson, of the central Uppsala region said in a statement. “He was arrested and taken to the police station to take a urine test.”

In a final Instagram post titled “Message to my fans n fam !!”, Broadus Jr. said “I made it through.”

Broadus Jr. has been vocal about his fondness for marijuana and has been arrested in the past on charges related to the narcotic.
