FOREST HILLS, Queens – The NYPD released surveillance video showing the vehicle they believe killed a well-known jeweler from Queens Sunday evening.

Police believe this video was after a dark-colored Dodge Magnum struck Aron Aranbayev in front of his Forest Hills home on 71st Avenue.

Video of the car was recovered from the crime scene and sources said it may have front end damage.

It started as a chance encounter.

The 40-year-old was reportedly returning home when the driver started yelling at him for being in the street.

That's when the driver allegedly slammed into the victim, according to reports, and sped off.

The victim – known as Eric to his friends, family and his celebrity clients – opened Rafaello and Co. in 2009 and quickly got the attention of athletes, musicians and entertainers alike.

Known for designing pricey pieces of jewelery worth millions for the likes of Jay-Z, Khloe Kardashian, Kevin Hart and many others.

The husband and father came to the United States from Uzbekistan and was laid to rest earlier this week. Tributes poured in from his famous customers.

Police are hoping someone recognizes the car in the surveillance video.

His family is offering $3,500 reward to help catch his killer.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
