2 men shot to death within hours of each other in East New York

EAST NEW YORK, Brooklyn — Two men were shot dead in two separate shootings in East New York, six hours apart.

At 9:18 p.m. Friday, police responded to a person shot outside 958 Hegeman Ave. Police found 22-year-old Stashun Thomas unconscious and unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso and right arm.

EMS transported Thomas to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Six hours later at 2:32 a.m. Saturday, police responded to another report of a shooting, this time at the corner of Vermont Street and Livonia Avenue.

Police found 37-year-old Dustin Jackson with gunshot wounds to the torso. Jackson was also taken to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made in either investigation.
