President Obama spends the day in NYC with family

NEW YORK — President Barack Obama was joined by Sasha and Malia, their friends and his sister Maya Soetoro-Ng and her husband Konrad Ng on Saturday afternoon as part of his weekend trip to New York City.

The president and his entourage left the Midtown East Hilton Hotel at 11:29 am with plans to visit Central Park, enjoy a lunch in Midtown and take in a Broadway show.

The family was seen waving to onlookers as they walked through Central Park before seeing a show on Broadway.

Crowds in Central Park were surprised by the visit and gathered to cheer the president, who waved to the crowd and shook hands with a food cart vendor.
